EMERGE@Simpson App Nominated
The finalist lineup for the 10th annual Prometheus Awards is a who’s who of Iowa’s technology and startup scenes, according to the Des Register on February 26 2015.
The Technology Association of Iowa unveiled a list of finalists for awards, which honor companies, founders and entrepreneurs across the state. Nominated in the Mobile App of the Year category was an app created by Students at Simpson College through EMERGE@Simpson.
Snitch'n lets you browse police images of wanted criminals, suspects, associates, missing persons, and more. Think you recognize someone? You can share on social media or send a tip to law enforcement.
The app was created by a team of students at Simpson College working through the school’s new venture accelerator, EMERGE@Simpson. This is the first app built solely by Simpson students working in the accelerator and allows the public an opportunity to assist local law enforcement in locating individuals who are wanted for various crimes or warrants. Snitch’n is just one of 32 projects that students are involved with at EMERGE@Simpson.
The Prometheus Awards will be announced on April 16 at Veterans Memorial Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center, 833 Fifth Ave. in Des Moines.
