Summer Events in Indianola and Warren County
The end of June is almost here. That said, here comes July. July is a very busy month in Warren County and the majority of its citizens become involved in one way or another to make the summer memorable for all.
First are the parades…lots of parades. Norwalk, Carlisle, and Milo each sponsor 4th of July Parades to celebrate our Country’s Independence, followed by Fireworks in the evening at each location.
Starlight Cinema Outdoor Movie – Free Family friendly movies under the stars on the big screen at Memorial Park in Indianola. July’s featured movie is “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb” which begins at 9:00 p.m. on July 11th.
Bike Down To ITown. This event is held on the 3rd Friday evening each month, April – Sept. Bikers from a wide area travel to Indianola (ITown) for an evening of riding, relaxing with friends and enjoying the beautiful Iowa Summer weat
Warren County Fair – This annual event has been held for over 150 years and continues to educate youth, entertain adults and provide the community with a great place to gather to discuss the current events of the day. Click here to see the 2015 Warren County Fair Schedule.
National Balloon Classic – The Classic, which is held the last Friday in July through the First S
aturday in August each year, brings up to 100 different balloonists from around the world to Indianola for nine days of flying fun. This event is held just east of Indianola
on Hwy 92. The Event includes a Parade, on the First Saturday morning of the event each year, which winds it way through the central part of Indianola and around The Square.
