EXIT Realty North Star – ITown Present & Future
The End of the Calendar year is always a time for review….what did we do well? …..What did we do ‘not’ so well? If you had a ‘re-do’ would you change anything? Isn’t that the test? If you would complete a task the same way the second time, doesn’t that mean you were satisfied with the results, but more importantly taught yourself the “how-to-do” to get it right. Yet, in some instances we would decide to change www.exititown.comthings because it did not turn out the way we wanted…so we taught ourselves “the how not-to” which is a major lesson in life. Right?
For me, 2015 was certainly different. Building a new business in an established market definitely has it challenges. Branding is most important and takes time. How are people going to use your services if they do not know who or where you are?
Second is experience. Knowing the market is the key to providing service in the real estate business. Being able to help a person or family understand that the price they are advertising their property for sale, or the price they are offering to purchase a property, is accurate. That takes experience.
Third is resources. In this category I include the office space. Last winter, sitting in a 24’ X 24’ Office, with one desk, one table, a printer and two bookshelves made me think, “Would I agree to work here?” I realized that in order to grow EXIT Realty North Star – ITown additional, more modern space would be needed. Fortunately, more space was behind the back wall. Just move the back wall “back” several feet and more office space would be available for training, collaboration and client consolations.
So the question became how to develop the new space into something that others would see and say “I want to work here”? My first attempts to create a floor plan were ‘not bad’ but then building code required changes, which took us back to the beginning.
One evening while attending a meeting, I mentioned my desire to make changes and Denise, one of the participants, mentioned that she now worked for a company who helped design offices, both new and remodeled. She introduced me to Meredith who showed examples of what their company could do to help create more workspace. Meredith introduced me to Amanda, “the designer” and within a month, I have a full blown look at what a remodeled space would look like, complete with colors, duct work, offices, flooring and graphics.
We often see the phrase “Experts In Their Field” used in advertising, but I will tell you that Meredith, Amanda and Denise ARE Experts! No question about it. Their focus throughout the entire process was to make sure everything that was added to the plan was in sync with my vision and the needs of our office space, now and in the future.
I am so happy with the results that I will recommend SAXTON, Inc. to anyone who needs help with an office design project. I know they work on other types of projects, but when you walk through their office and see what they have accomplished with a Turn of Last Century Building near downtown Des Moines, you will quickly see their capabilities. To SAXTON, “Space Matters”.
Kudos must also be given to Rasko Construction. Using the designs provided them, Rasko Construction was able to complete the remodel in a short time period with no major "re-do's". If you have ever remodeled your home, you know that unknowns can cause major time barriors or extra expense. That did not happen. So, if you are in Indianola and would like a tour of the new office, please stop in. We are located at 222 W Salem Ave.
Now for 2016. Back to work we go. Clients, Customers, Agents, Brokers, Attorneys, Bankers and others will all be able to use the space to help people with Real Estate transactions. For Me? My passion is to Educate. Educate clients, customers, agents, brokers, attorneys bankers and others so that those we help can maximize the value of the property they own. Our goal at EXIT Realty North Star is to guide our clients through the process of buying and selling property.
