To become a real estate sales agent requires time and commitment on the part of the individual. In Iowa, sixty hours of classroom time or self-study are required to take the real estate exam.
Once the person passes the exam, another thirty-six hours of classroom time must be completed before submitting an application to the Iowa Real Estate Commission, after which the commission issues a license to sell real estate in the State of Iowa.
Now about the outcome. Time and commitment are now required to build a network that will provide referrals necessary to make a living in this industry. Yes you can choose when you work and how hard you work. Just remember, the harder you work in the beginning, the higher the success rate will be as time marches on. There are no guarantees in real estate sales. You are subject to the changes in the economy and market place in which you choose to do business.
