Iowa Land Values Survey
REALTORS® Land Institute - Iowa Chapter released its fall Iowa Land Values Survey on Tuesday September 12th at the beginning of the Iowa Association of REALTORS® 2017 Annual Conference in Coralville, Iowa.
Twice each year, REALTORS® Land Institute - Iowa Chapter asks real estate brokers and agents, bankers, appraisers, farm managers and others to complete a survey of current land values in their area. The most recent survey was completed on September 1st with the results of a statewide average 2 percent increase in land values since March 2017.
Broken down by region, many areas of the state have received adequate rainfall and show signs of increased values. The south central part of the state, where rainfall has been dramatically sparse since early June, revealed a slight decrease in current land values.
The chart below provides a breakdown by region of High, Medium & Low quality land, non-tillable/pasture and timber ground.
With the current results, it was estimated that land values across the state have averaged an increase of 2.9 percent from September 1, 2016 to August 31, 2017.
